A collection of photographs, art prints, tickets, and documents relating to a variety of circuses in the late 19th and early 20th century. Of particular note is a collection of advertisements and business papers relating to the circus activity of the Parsons family of Darlington, primarily advertisements and business correspondence.
Biography
Walter K. Wilde was a native of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and circus enthusiast and longtime supporter of Circus World Museum.
Scope and Content Note
A collection of photographs, art prints, tickets, and documents relating to a variety of circuses in the late 19th and early 20th century. Of particular note is a collection of advertisements and business papers relating to the circus activity of the Parsons family of Darlington, primarily advertisements and business correspondence. The collection includes couriers for the Adams and Sells Circus, Ringling Bros. Circus (pre-1918), and Dailey Bros. Circus. Also found in the collection is a lot contract and dinner menu from the Ringling Bros. Circus in 1901 and artwork by John Stuart Curry.
